Frequently Asked Questions

CAN I VISIT TO MY CHILD? Featured

Sponsorship

The answer is obviously yes! We would love to organize a personal, family, or team trip allowing you to meet your sponsored child in person. These in-person visits will change your child’s like forever. Your physical presence shows your child they are deeply loved, and meeting you in person can inspire and change them forever.

KNOW ABOUT THE NURSING SPONSORSHIP

Sponsorship

Our nursing sponsorship program was founded by senior nurse Theresa Ann Engelhardt. Theresa personally sponsored one of the founders of the Mercy Alison Foundation, and her legacy of good work and caring for others continues through the support of this program. Many children have dreams to become a nurse or doctor, but their dreams never come true due to the lack of finances needed to attend the medical schools.
Quality nursing care can address issues that impact our community, such as marriage and family planning, pregnancy care, and child development. Our goal is to show our sponsored children that their dreams can become a reality, and that they can bless others in the same way they have been blessed by God.

SPONSOR A CHILD NOW How does it work?. Featured

Sponsorship

Your $45/month sponsorhip directly covers a child’s schooling and medical bills. In Uganda, education and medical care are privately- based services that are often unaffordable to families.

HOW LONG AM I COMMITTING TO BE A SPONSOR?

Sponsorship

A sponsor can make the most impact by committing to help provide education and care through the end of their child’s high school years. The sponsor may then choose to continue supporting their child through continued university education as the sponsor feels led.

SENDING MY CHILD A GIFT

Sponsorship

We welcome your thoughtfulness in remembering your child on their birthday or at Christmas. One of the best ways to give them a gift is by choosing from a list of available options organized and purchased by the Mercy Alison Foundation, and then paying for the cost of that item. This allows us to support our local economy, and ensures that the gifts they receive will truly benefit your sponsor child and their family. We also encourage you to email us a letter, video, or family picture that we can give to your child along with their gift. A Mercy Alison representative will then share your present, and send a picture of your child with the gift back to you.

SENDING YOUR CHILD LETTERS AND HOW TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR CHILD

Sponsorship

We encourage and emphasize the importance of communications between you as a sponsor and your sponsor child. Your words of encouragement and love are a pivotal part of our sponsorship programs. The most efficient and cost-effective way for you and your sponsored child to communicate is via our email address: mercyalisonayebarefoundation@gmail.com. You can also send videos and family pictures to your child.. Seeing your face reminds your sponsored child that they are loved, and that they are not alone.

HOW WILL MY SPONSORED CHILD BENEFIT FROM SPONSORSHIP?

Sponsorship

Your sponsored child will live in a nurturing environment where they will safely grow and develop physically and spiritually.
Your sponsored child’s educational and medical expenses will be provided for in full, allowing them the opportunity to reach their full potential. As healthy young adults, they in turn can reach out to their communities, transforming them into safe places to live.
Your sponsored child becomes part of a legacy of Ugandan children who know how to love, care for, and reach out to others in need. By partnering with Mercy Alison to invest in the restoration of hurting children and their families, together we can bring tangible change to vulnerable families and communities.
